Motorcyclist pursued by Haltom City police crashes, 2 injured

Haltom City police began chasing a motorcyclist Sunday night after officers learned it was reported stolen.

A motorcyclist driving what police said was a stolen motorcycle led Haltom City officers on a brief chase Sunday night before he crashed on a Fort Worth street, authorities said.

The male driver and a female passenger were taken to a local hospital, but their injuries were not considered life threatening, Haltom City police said Sunday night. The motorcyclist and passengers were not identified.

The crash took place shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Northern Cross Boulevard near Interstate 35W in Fort Worth.

“The motorcyclist may have lost control of the vehicle or he may have hit some gravel,” said Haltom City police Cpl. Joe Hackfeld. “Officers did not put down spikes or anything like that.”

The brief pursuit began in Haltom City when an officer saw the motorcycle traveling down a street, ran the tags and learned it had been reported stolen.

Haltom City police continued to investigate Sunday night.
