Authorities have identified a 44-year-old woman who was fatally injured after being struck by a pickup when she crossed South Cooper Street on Wednesday.
Tracy Slaughter of Arlington died in the operating room at Medical Center of Arlington after the crash, according to a press release from the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.
Police said the crash did not occur at a crosswalk and that Slaughter walked in front of the pickup, which was traveling south in the 2800 block of South Cooper Street.
No citations are expected to be issued and it does not appear the pickup driver was at fault, a spokeswoman with the Arlington police said. The driver stopped after the crash and has been cooperating with authorities, the spokeswoman said.
