Fire raced through a house in southwest Fort Worth early Wednesday and a resident was able to escape the flames. No injuries were reported, a fire official said.

Firefighters took about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze, which was reported about 12:30 a.m. in the 5300 block of Weddington Court .

When they arrived, firefighters could see flames coming from the roof and the back of the house, Battalion Chief Richard Harrison said. A man got out safely.

Hours earlier, firefighters had responded to a small kitchen fire at the same residence, Harrison said. That blaze was put out quickly, according to Fire Department reports.

Investigators had not determined whether the two fires were related.
