A woman and a man killed in separate wrecks in Arlington over the weekend have been identified, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website.
Joel Rodriguez-Rodriguez, 40, whose home address was not listed, died on U.S. 287 early Saturday, according to the website. A ruling on his cause of death was pending.
Cheryl Slover, 41, of Krum was killed Sunday morning at Interstate 20 and Texas 360. She died from head and chest injuries, according to the website.
Arlington police were dispatched to a single-vehicle wreck at about 2:15 a.m. Saturday in the 4600 block of U.S. 287 south of Interstate 20 and found Rodriguez-Rodriguez dead in a 1999 Dodge Durango.
The SUV had run into a concrete pillar on the highway overpass, police said. Investigators released no information on what caused the crash.
In the Sunday wreck, Slover was thrown from her vehicle as it rolled down an embankment at I-20 and Texas 360 at about 5:45 a.m., police said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say they believe she was traveling from the eastbound ramp of I-20 to the northbound lanes of Texas 360 when she lost control. She was ejected as the vehicle rolled down an embankment and was hit by another vehicle, police said.
The driver of the second vehicle was not injured, police said.
Investigators have not determined what caused the woman to lose control.
