Fort Worth robbery suspect shot by clerk

An armed Fort Worth man who police say tried to rob a store was shot by a clerk and fled, police said Sunday.

Officers later found the 46-year-old suspect, whose identity was not released, and took him into custody.

The incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday at Smokin Dragon Gifts, 10621 South Freeway.

The suspect walked into the business, brandished a handgun and demanded money, police said Sunday.

At some point, a 28-year-old employee pulled out a handgun and fired at the suspect, wounding him.
