Grapevine man dies after wrecking motorcycle on Bedford freeway

A 54-year-old man lost control of his motorcycle while negotiating an eastbound entrance ramp on Airport Freeway.

A motorcyclist died after losing control of his vehicle and slamming into a concrete barrier on Texas 183 early Friday.

Michael Gonzales, 54, of Grapevine, was pronounced dead about 2 a.m., by an investigator with the Tarrant County Medical Eaminer’s office.

Gonzales was traveling eastbound in the 1200 block of the Airport Freeway in Bedford and lost control of his motorcycle, said Lt. David Smith, Bedford police spokesman.

Gonzales’ motorcycle slammed into orange construction barrels and then struck the concrete barrier at the entrance to the freeway, Smith said.
