The Tarrant County medical examiner has released the identity of a 27-year-old man who was killed early Sunday in a two-vehicle wreck on the South Freeway in Fort Worth.
David Macias-Gallardo was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred in the 1700 block of Interstate 35W South. The cause of death was blunt-force head injuries, the medical examiner ruled.
The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of the South Freeway when a 2003 Toyota Matrix, which had just pulled into traffic out of a safety zone, was hit by a pickup driven by Macias-Gallardo, police said. The pickup hit the back of the Toyota, police said.
When the collision occurred, the pickup rolled onto its left side and Macias-Gallardo was thrown partway out of the driver’s window, police said.
No other injuries were reported.
