Brock Eagles (9-0, 4-0 in District 4-3A Division I) at Boyd Yellowjackets (4-5, 2-2 in District 4-3A Division I) Preview
▪ When: 7:30 p.m. Friday
▪ Players to watch: Brock: RB Dawson Littlepage, OL Broox Powell. Boyd: TE Judd Smith, LB Austin Sparks.
▪ Outlook: The Eagles are back in the postseason with a second straight district championship in only two seasons of University Interscholastic League play, and they appear to be surging into the postseason, going for a 19th straight regular-season win. Running back Leddy French (1,025 yards, 21 TD) and Tyler Gray (1,106, 17 TD) have combined for the vast majority of the Eagles' rushing yards, and quarterback Seth Boleman is exremely accurate (49-68, 1,093 yards, 7 TD, 2 int.). Littlepage is a quiet offensive weapon, averaging more than 10 yards per carry (27-320). The Brock defense has held opponents to one touchdown or less seven times with five shutouts. The offense has scored 50 or more points seven times, and 49 in another.
Boyd can secure a playoff berth with a win, but even with a loss the Yellow Jackets could still accomplish the rare feat of making the postseason three straight years with a losing record. Brock won last season's meeting, the only one between the teams, 49-14.
