The recently created Aledo ISD Employee Crisis Fund is designed to provide a source of financial assistance to Aledo ISD employees who are facing an emergency situation. This would include immediate short-term financial obligation(s) in which the employee has fallen behind as a result of the crisis.
AISD Deputy Superintendent Lynn McKinney recently addressed a group of teachers saying, “While we may not expect it, we can never predict when an overwhelming crisis may occur. That’s why having this fund available for certain financial needs can be timely and so beneficial for our school family members.”
The Crisis Fund is funded by the Aledo Education Foundation.
McKinney said a committee consisting of AISD employees will soon be in place to provide a timely response to each crisis. It will carefully review each application before arriving at a decision for short-term emergency assistance. Requests for funds are confidential.
“Typically, funds are distributed directly to creditors and are not issued as cash to the employee,” McKinney said. “There is a cap on how much funding is allowed, and the committee determines the amount on a case-by-case basis.”
