CASA Hope for Children volunteer Sheila Gerrald has been chosen as Advocate of the Quarter for the second quarter of 2014. Gerrald is “dedicated to her cases and always goes above and beyond to advocate for her children.” Despite taking a new job that required more time, she not only continued to work on her cases, but also took on a new case. “We thank Sheila for giving of her time and energy for the children of CASA.”

CASA Hope for Children recruits, trains and supports community volunteers who speak up for the best interest of foster children in court. CASA volunteers research case records and speak to everyone involved in a child’s life, including family members, teachers, doctors, lawyers, social workers and others. Their independent assessments and advocacy help judges make better decisions in foster care cases.

Training for new volunteers began Tuesday. For more information contact CASA Hope for Children at 817-599-6224 or casa@casaofparkercounty.com. CASA is located at 701 Palo Pinto St., Suite 701-F, Weatherford, Texas, 76086.
