City of Weatherford announces Keep Weatherford Beautiful Recognized Yard Award recipients

The City of Weatherford’s Park Board, along with the Parks, Recreation and Special Events Department has announced the winners selected for the most recent Keep Weatherford Beautiful Recognized Yard Award.

The program recognizes individuals whose property exemplifies and promotes beautification and pride as an example for Weatherford; “a clean and beautiful city where all citizens value as well as protect natural resources, and take responsibility for enhancing their community environment.”

Nominations can be submitted at any time throughout the year to City of Weatherford Parks and Recreation Office at 119 Palo Pinto Street in Weatherford, by e-mail at, or by phone to 817-598-4124. Submissions will also be called for via the Parks and Recreation Facebook page. Award recipients are selected quarterly in conjunction with regularly scheduled Park Board meetings. The Board acknowledged there are “many worthy recipients” throughout the community, the following were awarded for the fourth quarter: Wayne Barbee – northeast area, Charlene and Mike Amburn – northwest, Beverly and Nate Blitzer – southwest, Wendy Walling – southeast, and Phyllis and Billie Purvis – east/lake area.
