A 15-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a pickup while riding his bicycle on Interstate 20 in the dark on Friday.
The boy was identified on the Tarrant County medical examiner's website as Ryan Segar.
The accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. at Mile Marker 408 on the eastbound side of Interstate 20, a news release from the Weatherford Police Department stated.
Witnesses told police that Segar was trying to ride his bicycle across the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 when he was struck by a pickup traveling in the left lane, the release said.

Witnesses also said that because it was dark the teen was not visible to eastbound traffic until he was near, according to the release. Segar was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, the release said.
The pickup driver was interviewed by officers who decided that intoxication was not a factor in the wreck, the release said.
The driver was released after being interviewed, the release said.
