A 23-year-old Weatherford man faces an intoxication manslaughter charge in the death in December of a passenger in his car.
Garrett Martin Bradford was booked into the Parker County Jail on Thursday and released a few hours later on $10,000 bail, jail records show.
On Dec. 4, Bradford was driving with Colton “Colt” Bruce, 23, of Aledo on Old Garner Road about 3 miles west of Weatherford. Bradford failed to negotiate a curve in the road, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report. The car went a ditch and struck two trees on the passenger side.
Bruce was ejected from the car, the report stated. He died of head and chest injuries, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Bradford left the vehicle to seek help and was located about 7 miles from the crash, the DPS reported. He was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, where he was treated and released.
According to DPS reports, Bradford said that he and Bruce had been drinking before the crash.
Bruce was a 2010 graduate of Aledo High School and attended Tarleton State University, where he was a member of the rodeo team.
On his website, Bradford is described as a star on the rise in country music, getting his inspiration from the likes of Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and George Strait.
