Southlake churches worship together at Day of Prayer

Local churches and organizations came together for prayer and worship May 1 at Southlake Town Square for an hour in observation of the National Day of Prayer.

Local churches and organizations came together for prayer and worship May 1 at Southlake Town Square for an hour in observation of the National Day of Prayer.

About 10 churches and organizations met and the worship session was led by leaders from each of the different churches, said Clayton Reed, an event organizer and lead pastor at Southlake Baptist.

“It’s the one event in town where you’ll have worship that’s provided by a combination group from a lot of local churches,” Reed said. “It is legitimately a prayer effort by a lot of people.”

Local city leaders and students also took part in the event.

According to the National Day of Prayer website, “The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture.”
