Daddies and daughters, and sons and mothers spent some formal time together.

80 big and little ballgoers attended Colleyville’s inaugural Winter Ball.

The event replaces the city’s annual Daddy, Daughter dance in an effort to include the whole family.

“I think the participants that were there seemed to have a really good time,” said Lisa Escobedo, the city’s recreation and city events manager. “We of course had more daddies and daughters, than mothers and sons.”

The night featured dancing, games and treats.

The city plans to continue the event annually and will look at how to improve next year’s event.

“What we'll probably do in the future is pick out some daddy, daughter songs and mother, son songs so they can have that special, unique moment when they have that individual dance.”
