Election filing begins this week

Candidates can file Wednesday for City Council and school board positions.
Filing is open until Feb. 28 for the May 10 election.
Here’s a look at the possible races.
Two City Council spots are up for election in May including Martin Schelling’s Place 1 and Pamela Muller’s Place 6.
Council members are elected at large and serve for three-year terms. Council members are limited to two consecutive terms.
Schelling has only served one term and is eligible for re-election, but Muller has hit the limit, serving since 2008.
Three seats in Carroll School District’s School Board of Trustees are up for election.
Secretary Craig Rothmeier’s Place 1, trustee Fred Stovall’s Place 2 and Vice President Sue Armstong’s Place 3 will be decided in May.
Trustees serve three-year terms and there are no term limits.
In Colleyville, seats that will be up are the ones held by Stan Hall, Place 3, and Jodi Short, Place 4.
Members serve three years without term limits.
Two seats are expiring in Grapevine.
Chris Coy’s Place 5 seat and Place 6, currently held by Roy Stewart.
Grapevine Colleyville ISD
Three seats in Grapevine Colleyville School District’s School Board of Trustees are up for election.
Jesse G. Rodriguez, Place 5; Leon Leal, Place 6; and Jorge Rodriguez, Place 7 will be decided in May.
