A Hurst couple missing since Sunday morning have been found safe in Grapevine, police said Tuesday.

A resident called Grapevine police about 11:39 p.m. Monday to report that a couple, 77-year-old Fritz Collett and his wife, Leilani, 76, were possibly in a 2004 silver Pontiac Vibe near William D. Tate and Ball streets in Grapevine. The resident noted it was the same type car noted on Texas Department of Transportation billboards about the missing couple.

When officers arrived, Grapevine police confirmed it was the missing couple who told authorities they had been lost the entire time. After being checked by paramedics and found to be in good health, the Colletts were reunited with their family and returned home.

The Colletts, both with health problems including possible dementia, were last seen about 11 a.m. Sunday, and their family reported them missing early Monday.

Initially, only the woman was reported missing.
