Traffic is something North Texans like to talk about and Giovanni Capriglione is giving locals a chance to say something.
The state representative is hosting a transportation town hall meeting at 7 p.m. on Feb. 12 at the Colleyville Center, 5301 Riverwalk Drive.
Amanda Calongne, Capriglione’s chief of staff, said the event allows those involved to get informed.
“He’s looking bring both the business community and people who are involved politically into the same room so they can hear from the people in charge how the money is spent and actually have the chance to speak their opinions, and ask questions, and have a better understanding of how the system works and let them put their two cents in,” she said.
The event is billed as “a discussion on funding future transportation needs and everything from potholes to toll roads.”
The event features representatives from across the spectrum of transportation in Northeast Tarrant. Including Larry Phillips, Chairman of House Transportation Committee, Victor Vandergriff, Commissioner Texas Transportation Commission, Gary Fickes, Tarrant County Commissioner and more.
Calongne said this town hall meeting is the first of three.
Capriglione has also planned a meeting on education and another covering healthcare.
“These are the top three issues that constituents have questions and concerns about,” Calongne said. “He thinks these are priorities for the legislature to deal with.”
