JV Silver team efficient in victory over Keller

The Mansfield JV Silver hockey team defeated Keller 3-0 on Thursday to improve to 10-1 on the season and remain in second place in JV Silver division.

Following a scoreless first period, Trevor Mellott got things going for Mansfield at the 12:12 mark of the second period on an assist from Tyler Horn.

James Boisvert added a second goal 26 seconds later on an assist from Thomas Bell and the JV Silver team led 2-0 at the end of two years.

Boisvert scored another goal in the third period to make it 3-0 to finish out the game.

Tripp Hannah and Cameron Bickford picked up the assists on the second Boisvert goal.

Mansfield outshot Keller 20-8 in the game, and Courtney Weeks stopped every shot on goal in the game.

Mansfield stumbles against Timberview

The Mansfield boys basketball team lost to Timberview 56-43 on Friday night to move to 1-2 in district competition on the season.

Micah Littlejohn led the team in scoring with 17 points, while Zach Johnson added 10 points in the game for the Tigers.

Handy Mo, Bob Clayton, Abdel Abebo and Marun Williams all combined for 16 points in the game for the Tigers.

Mansfield will compete in the Aledo Moritz Holiday Classic over the Christmas break.

Fourth quarter rally comes up just short for Jaguars

The Summit boys basketball team outscored Arlington Seguin 19-13 in the fourth quarter of Friday night's game, but it was not quite enough, as Seguin won 63-62 to remain unbeaten in district play.

Corinthian Ramsey scored 17 points in the game for the Jaguars, while Terrance Hubby added 14 and Keilyn Nance scored 13 points in the game.

Doug Palacio, Larenz Lester, Vernon Scott, Keion Scofield, Jaberri Fountain, Phillip Hollis, and Devonta Nichols all combined for 18 points.

Summit will compete in the FWISD Coca Cola Classic Tournament over the Christmas break.

Lake Ridge cruises against Red Oak

The Lake Ridge boys basketball team coasted to a 62-34 victory against Red Oak on Friday night to remain undefeated in district competition.

Jacob Van and Oluwatinilehin Onilogbo each scored 17 points a piece in the game, while TJ Robinson, Brandon Tucker, Julian Harris, Ryan Woolridge, Isaac Rowe, Jourdan Taylor, Keith Rowe and Bryson Williams all combined for 28 points in the game.

Lake Ridge will compete in the Aledo Moritz Holiday Classic over Christmas break.
