After picking up its initial District 14-5A win last week over Lancaster, the Timberview volleyball team will look to focus on what matters as they return to district games this week.
The Lady Wolves had a less-than-successful outing at the Arlington Invitational tournament last weekend but will put that behind them as they face Seguin and Waxahachie this week.
At the Arlington tourney, Timberview went 0-6.
In their pool play game with All Saints, Timberview lost by successive and tight 26-24 scores.
But the team knows the real prizes lie ahead and will face those tough tests this week.
Legacy was also participating at the Arlington Invitational, where it posted a .500 outcome.
Janell Fitzgerald was named to the all-tournament team for Legacy.
The Lady Broncos went 3-3 in their six games, with their wins coming against Keller Timber Creek, L.D. Bell and Rowlett.
Tuesday was to be Legacy’s first district game, as it played at Ennis. The Lady Broncos will be in action at home on Friday as they host Red Oak. The next Tuesday game will have Legacy playing at Summit.
Summit, which had the weekend to recover and focus on the fundamentals after posting its first district win, will be back in action this week.
The Lady Jaguars easily handled Seguin last week in three games.
In Summit’s early-week game, it was hosting Waxahachie, a team which finished as district champs last season and went on to the Region II semifinals.
This Friday, Summit will be at Lake Ridge, a team which also opened the district schedule with a win.
The Lady Eagles disposed of Ennis in three games and are also now focused only on the district schedule.
It was Lake Ridge which pinned the only district loss on Waxahachie last year and the intentions are to pick up where it left off.
Before the big matchup with Summit on Friday, Lake Ridge was playing at Red Oak on Tuesday.
Mansfield played in the Ragin’ Rattler Volleyball Tournament in San Marcos over the weekend.

Mansfield then faced Crockett in the consolation side of the bracket.
This week, Mansfield will host Arlington and then Highland Park on Tuesday. The next Friday marks the start of District 8-6A, when the Lady Tigers will also be at home against Cedar Hill.
