District meet good for Mansfield boys teams
The District 14-5A track and field meet proved to be a good one for the Mansfield boys teams as the school district produced multiple district champions.
Legacy's Jermaine Brealy took took first place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.85, while Summit's Medric Roberson won the 110 hurdles event with a time of 14.00.
Legacy's Jake Weith won the 1,600 meter event with a time of 4:37.70, while teammate Garrett Moore won the 300 hurdles with a time of 37:31.
Summit's Asa Rice won the 3,200 meter event with a time of 10:05.00, and Timberview's Quame Newbill won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:00.69.
Summit's Larenz Lester won the long jump event with a distance of 23-01.50, and Legacy's Dane Roe won the pole vault event with a jump of 13-00.
Larenz also won the triple jump event with a distance of 47-10.75.
Mansfield ISD girls represent well at 14-5A track and field meet
The Mansfield schools had multiple girls win district championships at the 14-5A track and field meet and several others advance to the area meet this week.
Legacy's Ja'leesa Giles won the 100 meter dash with a time of 12:25, as well as the 200 meter dash with a time of 24:37.
Ivy Walker won the long jump for Summit with a jump of 19-09.25 and won the pole vault event with a jump of 10-00.00.
Walker also brought home the top spot in the triple jump with a distance of 37-08.50.
Mansfield looks good in district meet
The Mansfield track and field team had a solid showing at its district meet this season,
Hannah Allred finished first in the 1,600 meter run with a time of 5:48.99 on the girls side, while teammate Ryan Sterling won the event on the boys side with a time of 4:37.09.
Jackson Gleeson took first in the 200 meter run with a time of 21:68.
Allred won the 3,200 meter event as well, with a time of 12:54.89, and Sterling won the same event on the boys side with a run 10:41.93.
Kolton Fletcher won the pole vault event with a jump of 13', and Cole Brignac won the boys long jump with a time of 21-9.75.
