Kyra Ullman, daughter of Sunghee and Pete Ullman, was honored with an award presentation and reception following a piano recital, hosted by Harriet Motter. She performed selections by Bach, Haydn, Chopin, Grieg and Joplin.
Kyra will enter Mansfield High School as a 9th grader. She will be a member of school's marching band. She is a member of the Ft. Worth Youth Orchestra, and is in an accelerated academic program.
Her award was the Paderewski Medal from the National Piano Guild for playing 10 National/International programs (10 - 20 pieces) over the past 11 years. She achieved a Top Talent Rating for each of these programs.
Her teachers have been Jennea Potter of Southlake, Bonnie Dove of Arlington and Harriet Motter, Mansfield.

Kyra was awarded an Olympic style large engraved medal with neck ribbon, an acrylic music desk plaque with engraved plate and the medal from the National Piano Guild engraved with her name and date placed in a custom glass domed holder.
The custom cake featured her photo and silhouette of a grand piano in edible icing.
Special guests included Kyra's parents and sister Hayley Ullman. Officers from the Arlington Music Teachers Association: Karen Shugart and Mickey Legg who hosts the Mansfield Piano Guild annual auditions. Ft. Worth Music Teachers Associations Ensemble and World of Music Chairman Reva Jean Beck and Bonnie Dove, representing composition programs of the National Federated Music Assn. and Texas Music Teachers theory and composition programs.
Other special guests included Dr. Robert Beck of Ft. Worth and Dr. Robert Reynolds of Norman, Oklahoma.
Honored recognition was given to Dee Walraven, Chairman of the Mansfield National Piano Guild Auditions, and Mina Kramer, President of Arlington Music Teachers Association.
