St. Jude plans annual festival
St. Jude Catholic Church is planning a great festival is from 1-10 p.m. Sept. 20 on the church grounds at 500 E. Dallas St. The public is invited to share tortas, gorditos, turkey legs, sausage on a stick, burgers, corn and much more, plus enjoy rides, bounce houses, games, cake walk, disc jockey and a petting zoo. Vendors and crafters will line the center inside and outside as well.
A special feature during the evening hours will be Spanish dancing and a live band from 7-10 p.m. There will also be a special tribute for Mexican Independence Day. Free admission and parking.
Crafters and vendors may reserve space by picking up an application at the office, 500 E. Dallas St., or calling 817-473-6709 and have one mailed to you.
Walnut Ridge offers DivorceCare
Find help and healing for the hurt of separation and divorce at DivorceCare, a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. DivorceCare is led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help.
The program will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Sundays from Aug. 24- Nov. 16 at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, 1201 Texas 360. Joyce Hall will be the facilitator. For more information, call 817 473-1461.
Preschoolers offered Music in Motion
First Baptist Church Mansfield is offering a free Music in Motion class for ages 2-5 and their parents. Music in Motion is a fun one-hour class where parents and their kids can enjoy playing with parachutes, bean bags, pool noodles and more set to music. This is also a way to connect with other parents in the church and community who have small children. Classes are at 10 a.m. Tuesdays through Aug. 5. There is no pre-registration.

Walnut Ridge plans summer camps
Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, 1201 Texas 360, has a line-up of summer camps for kids. Fit Camp will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 4-7 for first through fourth grade. Dance Camp is set for 8:30-11:30 a.m. Aug 11-14 for first through fourth grade.

First Methodist seeks ESL teachers, students
Would you like to help share the gift of language? First Methodist Mansfield is seeking teachers and assistants for the fall semester of English as a Second Language (ESL). Classes are from 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday and Thursday from Aug. 26-Nov. 13, or Tuesday evenings from 6-8:30 p.m. Aug. 26-Dec.16. Teacher training is provided from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 23. Church offers sports camps
First Methodist Mansfield is offering sports camps for children in kindergarten through sixth grade Aug. 4-7. From 9 a.m. to noon, All Star Camp will include basketball, soccer, football and more. Walnut Ridge begins handyman mission
A Carpenter’s Touch (ACT) is a new Walnut Ridge Baptist Church mission aimed at providing basic handyman services for church members who are widows, single moms, elderly or infirm. Many hands will make this light service, so we are seeking numerous volunteers experienced in home repairs of all sorts. Church forming disaster relief team
In order to provide disaster relief preparation, disaster relief training, and disaster relief response, Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in cooperation with Southern Baptist of Texas Convention (SBTC) is forming a disaster relief team. This team will prepare, equip, and train to meet real needs of those whose lives have been or will be affected by disasters.
The initial training will be from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Aug. 16 in the WRBC South Building Sanctuary. Cost of the session is $20 per person and can be paid online at www.walnutridgechurch.com
