Galileo Church hosts Hymns & Libations

Galileo Church will host Hymns & Libations from 7-9 p.m. March 24 at Steven’s Garden & Grill, 223 Depot St. A $10 cover includes a draft beer or glass of house wine. Appetizers and full bar available. No kids, please. Everyone is welcome.

Walnut Ridge plans mission Sunday

Celebrate and explore 20 local, regional, national and international mission agencies on March 23 with Walnut Ridge Baptist Church before, during and after 9:30 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. services. Explore the vision, mission, activities and volunteer opportunities of these impactful organizations.

Church hosts special-needs prom

For a student with special needs, the traditional high school prom is a bit overwhelming! From 7-9:30 p.m. April 12, Mansfield Bible Church will host a prom, complete with formals and tuxedoes, in the gym that is specifically geared for these students. There is no charge for this event. Children’s choir plans spring concert

Jubilate Children’s Choir, a choir made up of Mansfield area third- through sixth-graders, will present their spring concert 6:30 p.m. March 25 in First Methodist Mansfield's chapel. The choir has performed in several community events including the Mansfield Christmas Spectacular and Veteran's Day concerts. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted to benefit Common Ground Network’s Feed the Kids for Summer program. Financial Peace offered at Lakeside

More than two million families have positively changed their financial future through Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University (FPU). The nine-week course provides families and individuals with practical tools to gain control of their finances and set themselves up for long-term financial success. The course meets once a week where a different lesson is taught by Dave on DVD followed by a small-group discussion. Lessons include budgeting, relationships and money, getting out of debt, saving for emergencies and investing. FPU will be held in Mansfield at Lakeside Church of Christ, 1500 Breckenridge Road. Women’s Ministry plans retreat

The Women’s Ministry of Mansfield Bible Church is planning a Women’s Retreat at the Riverbend Retreat Center in Glen Rose on March 21-22. The speaker is Marilyn Walberg and the theme is Are You Ready for the Trip , Our Holy Destination? Get all the details and register with $90 at by March 12. MBC is located at 2351 Country Club Drive. Run to benefit developing countries

A Celebrate Children one-mile fun run and 5K will be held from 7-11:30 a.m. March 22 at Katherine Rose Memorial Park, 303 Walnut Creek Drive. This fun family-friendly event benefits Compassion International and their efforts to provide safe drinking water to children and their families within developing countries. A former Compassion-sponsored student, who once suffered from a lack of clean water, will also be attending and sharing his story.

Participants will be able to see filters and watch how they clean the contaminated water. Local businesses will also set up booths with interactive activities. Participants are encouraged to bring spare change within a water bottle for the Change for Hope drive. We invite families and friends of all ages to join us in celebrating our children and helping those in need!
