Run to benefit developing countries
A Celebrate Children one-mile fun run and 5K will be held from 7-11:30 a.m. March 22 at Katherine Rose Memorial Park, 303 Walnut Creek Drive. This fun family-friendly event benefits Compassion International and their efforts to provide safe drinking water to children and their families within developing countries. A former Compassion-sponsored student, who once suffered from a lack of clean water, will also be attending and sharing his story.
Participants will be able to see filters and watch how they clean the contaminated water. Local businesses will also set up booths with interactive activities. Participants are encouraged to bring spare change within a water bottle for the Change for Hope drive. We invite families and friends of all ages to join us in celebrating our children and helping those in need!
Register at www.celebratechildren5k.com . Early registration is available through March 1. Cost is $10-$30.
