Grief class offered
First Methodist Mansfield is offering Journey Through Grief from 6:30-8 p.m., beginning Sept. 21. This grief support class helps those grieving to understand and integrate loss into their lives in a small group setting. Led by trained facilitators who have experienced loss in their own lives, the class meets for six consecutive Mondays. This free class is open to the whole community. Nursery is available. Walnut Ridge hosts fund-raiser banquet
Walnut Ridge Baptist Church is excited to host the 4th Annual Color Their World fund-raising banquet benefitting Allies in Youth Development’s work with orphans in Eastern Europe. From 6:30-8 p.m. Sept. 27, Walnut Ridge Baptist Church will offer a free meal, catered by Oliver’s Fine Foods, with live and silent auction items, including weekend trips, zoo passes, free meals, ballroom dancing and unique gifts from Russia. St. Jude planning annual festival
The St. Jude 39th annual festival will be held this year from 1-10 p.m. Sept. 19 at the church, 500 E. Dallas St. Parking and admission are free.
Fun for the whole family, plenty of rides, games, bounce houses, dunking booth, face painting and ethnic food, including, burgers, turkey legs, tacos, gorditas, ice cream, fautas and much more, are planned.
DJ Travis Stewart will spin during the afternoon hours followed by Ballet Folklorico at 5:30 p.m., Los Audases band from 7-10 p.m. and singer and model Carolina Imperial at 8:30 p.m. A petting zoo and Boy Scouts smash car, cake walk and vendor and crafters will also be on hand.
