Timberview Middle School and Eagle Ridge Elementary School recently received the Storehouse Cup for having the most participants in the 2014 Community Storehouse Run in the Dark Sept. 20. The Community Storehouse assists children in need who live in the Keller and Northwest school districts.

Fossil Ridge High School student Jesus Bribiescas recently won an ornament contest for Texas House District 93’s Rep. Matt Krause. Bribiescas’s design was chosen out of 176 submissions. His ornament featuring a longhorn decked out for the holidays will hang on the 22-foot Texas House Christmas Tree in the Texas State Capitol.
Giving thanks for holiday
Keller district campuses and offices will be closed Nov. 24-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Classes resume Dec. 1.
Filling the bus with food
Aramark food service and Durham transportation are partnering to conduct a Northwest school district food drive supporting the Roanoke and Justin food pantry. Now through Nov. 18, Northwest schools will compete by bringing canned, non-perishable food items. At the end of the food drive, a school bus will stop by each campus to load the items collected. Each bus will be weighed and the heaviest bus will win the Fill the Bus competition. For more information, go to www.nisdtx.org/fillthebus.

All Northwest campuses and offices are closed the week of Nov. 24-28 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Class resumes Dec. 1.
Harlem Globetrotter Joyce "Sweet J" Ekworomadu recently visited Schluter and Prairie View elementary schools and Chisholm Trail Middle School as part of the Harlem Globetrotter's community outreach program, The ABCs of Bullying Prevention. The program focuses on action, bravery and compassion. Students were able to join in on a few of the famous Globetrotter basketball tricks.
Veteran Diplomas Offered
