Tritons make splash heading into regionals
The Trophy Club Tritons Swim Team finished a strong showing at The Colony last weekend in preparation for the summer TAAF Region IV swim meet on July 19-20 at Keller ISD Natatorium.
The Tritons boast 175 swimmers in the program and should be well-positioned for garnering points in the coming regional meet.
“We’re pretty deep in every age group,” said head coach Steve Melbourn. “Especially on the guys’ side, we stepped it up in all the age groups, with the 6-under and 8-unders being the highlight. I have to say our most competitive age group s the 9-10 girls and boys, where we’re deep and good.”
Never miss a local story.
Melbourn said the team is very balanced in addition to having depth.
“I’m very proud to be where I am with this team,” Melbourn said. “The parents and kids have a commitment to the whole season. We should see that through to the regional and state meet.”
