Timber Creek High School’s chapter of the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) will host a Community Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 26. The fair will feature activities, free screenings and giveaways, and Carter BloodCare will host a blood drive at the school, 12350 Timberland Blvd.
The Parent Support session for May is “Managing Stress” at 6:15 p.m. at the Keller Learning Center, 250 College Ave. Sessions are free and open to all KISD parents and employees, but participants must register in advance by emailing Tishara Robinson at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 817-744-4486.
Camp ECO, which stands for Experiencing the Challenges of Outdoors, at the district’s Outdoor Learning Center is for Northwest school district students entering first through fifth grades. Activities will enhance students’ leadership and survival skills. Camp ECO is scheduled for June 11-13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost of the camp is $155, and sibling discounts are available.To register, go to the Northwest school district’s website byApril 30.
Suicide prevention meeting
A suicide awareness and prevention meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. April 28 at the Northwest school district Administration Building (2001 Texan Drive, Justin). The meeting is for parents of students PreK through 12th grade. Parents will learn how to identify signs of a youth in crisis or at risk for suicide and about community resources.
