Plumbing problems at Fossil Ridge
Several science classrooms at Fossil Ridge High School were evacuated April 2 after a waste pipe broke, leaking waste water and a foul odor into a science lab. Work crews repaired the broken pipe and Fort Worth Fire Department officials checked the area to ensure student safety, said Bryce Nieman, district spokesman. Students worked in other rooms for the rest of the day and were able to return to their regular rooms the next day.
A student at Keller High School was struck by a car while crossing Pate Orr Road during dismissal March 24. The girl was transported by ambulance to the hospital where she was treated and released. She spent several days recovering at home before returning to school, district officials said.
