Parent workshop

Parenting Center Workshop “Helping Children Deal with Stress and School Testing” is set for 2 p.m. March 19 at Independence Elementary School, 11773 Bray Birch Lane. The Keller ISD Counseling Department sponsors free monthly parenting workshops to share ideas and strategies.


Pam Barksdale, KISD language arts learning coordinator, recently received the Sue German Award at the annual Abydos Literacy Conference in San Antonio. The Sue German Award is given to teachers and administrators for excellence in teaching, commitment to education and superb staff development.

Northwest ISD

Nelson senior recognized

Byron Nelson High School senior Marisa Angeli has advanced to the National Scholastic Art and Writing contest for her Gold award at the Southwest Region at Large contest. Her art work is titled Through A Grasp. Byron Nelson art teacher Mylene Davis was also recognized as Angeli’s mentor.
