Sunshine Spaces, a Keller charity that assists critically ill children and their families, recently remodeled the room of Emme Nees, an 8-year-old Keller girl with Down Syndrome who has been battling leukemia.
Her room was decorated in a colorful “Dr. Seuss Lorax” theme, complete with Truffula Trees and crooked furniture. Her two siblings also received room makeovers, as did the family room. The family went on an a trip to San Antonio Aug. 5-9 while volunteers transformed their home. On Sunday afternoon, the Nees returned for “the big reveal.”
The Nees family is the fourth the charity has assisted since it started in December of 2013. Some 11 businesses contributed to the makeover. To learn more about Sunshine Spaces, nominate a child, donate or volunteer, visit sunshinespaces.org.
