A Delta Airlines flight on its way to Orlando, Fla., was diverted to Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Sunday afternoon for a security search, an airport spokeswoman confirmed.
Delta Flight 1061 departed from Los Angeles International Airport at 10:30 a.m. PT and arrived at 4:25 p.m. Sunday, said spokeswoman Cynthia Vega.
Vega would not say why the diversion was made.
Per Delta’s request, a team consisting of the DFW DPS got all 179 passengers and eight crew members off the plane so it could be inspected, Vega said.
The airport bomb squad was still searching the plane well after 6 p.m. Sunday. People were able to re-board the plane at it was back in the air around 7:35 p.m., Vega said.
The flight was scheduled to land at Orlando International Airport at 6:09 p.m. EST.
