Police found the body of a woman in an unlocked apartment early Wednesday after they responded to calls requesting a welfare check, authorities said.
The victim, whose identity had not been released, was found shortly after 2:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 6200 block of Glenview Drive at the Waterford on the Green Apartments.
The victim was a woman, but her name had not been released pending notification of relatives, said officials with the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office on Wednesday.
Police entered the apartment through a closed but unlocked apartment door.
“At this point in the investigation, the deceased appears to be the victim of foul play,” said Investigator Keith Bauman in a Wednesday news release. “The investigation is in its early stages and little information is able to be released at this time.”
Investigators did not believe the woman was a victim of a random act of violence.
Patrol officers received two separate requests to check on a person who lived at the apartment complex.
Detectives do not have a positive cause of death.
Police did not release any other details.
