A 34-year-old man who sent about a pound of methamphetamine from the Los Angeles area to Fort Worth via UPS in 2013 has been sentenced to 30 years in prison, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney’s office.
Jose Milton Puentes pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance, in a Fort Worth courtroom this summer, the news release said.
Puentes was sentenced Friday by U.S. District Judge John McBryde.
On April 4, 2013, Puentes shipped “or caused approximately one pound of methamphetamine to be shipped” to a Drug Enforcement Administration agent in Fort Worth, according to federal court records.
