A two-alarm fire at an apartment complex off East Lancaster Avenue left 18 people without homes Thursday night, according to Kyle Clay, a Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman.
About a quarter of the residents at the complex were displaced. Four units were damaged by the fire, and another four were damaged by smoke and water, Clay said.
The complex has 50 units with 75 to 100 occupants, Clay said.

The cause of the fire had not been determined Thursday night, but Clay said it appeared to be accidental. More than 15 fire units responded to the fire that started four units down from the northwest section of the building, where the fire took up the whole wing.
The American Red Cross was en route at 8 p.m. to provide assistance.
No one was injured, according to MedStar officials.
