Truck hauling wine catches fire, shuts down I-35W in north Fort Worth

An 18-wheeler hauling 1,200 cases of wine caught fire Thursday morning in the northbound lanes of Interstate 35W in north Fort Worth, police say.

Part of Interstate 35W in north Fort Worth was shut down Thursday morning after an 18-wheeler hauling bottled wine caught fire, authorities said.

Northbound lanes of the highway near Basswood Boulevard were closed for more than three hours after the truck caught fire shortly before 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

Fire officials reported one injured, but that person was not transported to a hospital.

The truck was hauling about 1,200 cases of wine or 4,100 pounds. Cause of the fire had not been released by authorities.

Officials reopened the northbound lanes just after 8:30 a.m.
