The police department is reaching out to the gay and transgender community in an effort to become more diverse.

In a video on YouTube, Detective Chris Gorrie shares his story as an openly gay detective in the department's traffic investigative unit.

The outreach is due in part to the fallout from the 2009 raid at the Rainbow Lounge. Story on WFAA.com
