Fort Worth schools deputy superintendent resigns

The resignation was announced today in a news release.

Hank Johnson, Fort Worth school district deputy superintendent of finance, business and operations resigned Wednesday, two days after Superintendent Walter Dansby’s resignation was accepted by the school board Monday.

Dansby announced the Johnson’s resignation “ with deepest regret” in a news release.

“Hank has the utmost understanding and grasp of the effort it takes for academic achievement to occur,” Dansby wrote. “His expertise and leadership have positioned the district for long-term success.”

In the same release, Johnson says he made the decision last month:

“The decision to move to the next stage of my life was decided in early April,” Johnson said. “With the change in district leadership I thought it prudent to announce my intentions now.”

The school board accepted Dansby’s resignation Monday.
