FORT WORTH Police are seeking the driver of a black Lexus who fled the scene of a fatal wreck in northeast Fort Worth Thursday night.
The accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. when the Lexus, which failed to stop for a blinking red light, hit a white pickup at the intersection of John T. White Road and the service road for East Loop 820, said Sgt. Raymond Bush, police spokesman.
“The Lexus struck the truck at a high rate of speed, knocking it into a traffic light pole,” Bush said. “The driver of the Lexus, a male, fled the scene. The female passenger in the Lexus was transported to an area hospital.”
The man driving the truck was also transported from the scene to a local hospital, but he later died, Bush said. The name of the man killed was unavailable late Thursday.
“It is not known at this time whether or not alcohol was a factor in the accident,” he added. “This is an ongoing investigation.”
