Two people remained hospitalized Saturday after a wreck Friday evening in northwest Tarrant County.
The wreck was reported at 8:26 p.m., after a black BMW crossed the roadway’s center line and struck a 2011 Nissan head-on near the intersection of U.S. Business 287 and Hicks Avondale School Road, said Terry Grisham, spokesman for the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department.
Shawn Pilger, 40, was transported by CareFlite helicopter to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Grisham said. Pilger is still in the hospital and has been charged with intoxication assault, Grisham said Saturday.
Priscilla Patten, 31, was taken by ground ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital in Fort Worth after being trapped inside the wreckage and freed by emergency responders, Grisham said.
Grisham added that Pilger’s injuries will keep him in the hospital for some time before he is able to be taken to jail.
