Man fatally injured in hit-and-run in east Fort Worth

Police were looking for the pickup that left the scene after a pedestrian was hit near the intersection of North Hampshire Boulevard and Tierney Road Friday night.

A man fatally injured Friday evening in a hit-and-run accident has been identified as 64-year-old Zachary Flanagan by the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Flanagan was struck by a pickup near the intersection of North Hampshire Boulevard and Tierney Road in east Fort Worth, police said.

The hit-and-run was reported at 8:43 p.m., said officer Sharron Neal, a police spokeswoman.

Flanagan was taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at about 9:30 p.m., police reported.

Police were still looking for the pickup. Neal said that it was dark-colored but that the license plate number was unknown.
