Getting in and out of downtown will be a bit more challenging over the next couple of days as streets are shut down for the Main St. Fort Worth Arts Festival.

The annual festival, which draws thousands of people, begins Thursday and continues through Sunday.

Because the festival is set up on Main Street from the Tarrant County Courthouse to the Fort Worth Convention Center, most cross streets will be closed.

Sixth and Seventh streets will remain open until 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday to let commuters in and out of downtown, but the traffic will be slow-moving.

Major street closings during the festival

Main Street from Weatherford to 9th streets is closed until 6 a.m. Monday.

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 8th and 9th streets are closed until 6 a.m. Monday.

6th and 7th streets (two lanes) are open until 6 p.m. today and Friday.
