One man was taken to a hospital by helicopter ambulance after a bad evening rush-hour wreck Thursday in far east Fort Worth.

The wreck was reported about 5 p.m. near the intersection of Centre Station Drive and Centrepoint Boulevard, according to early reports from Fort Worth police and fire departments and MedStar. A car and a Jeep collided.

One man was taken by helicopter to a Fort Worth hospital in critical condition, said Matt Zavadsky, spokesman for MedStar.

MedStar was sending another ambulance to the scene, but it was unclear how many other people were hurt.

The area is in the narrow portion of Fort Worth south of DFW Airport.
