A man was killed at 8:57 p.m. Thursday in an auto-pedestrian wreck in the 6200 block of Interstate 35W in south Fort Worth.
Little information was available on Friday morning, but Fort Worth police said the driver would not be cited.
“It was an accident,” said Fort Worth police spokeswoman Sharron Neal, adding that the driver reported the incident.
Additionally, police said it was dark on the road.
The accident occurred on the southbound service road in front of the Club Ice nightclub, according to a statement from Fort Worth Police Capt. Shawn Stone.
The unidentified male pedestrian was struck and killed as he was walking in the right lane of the service road, Stone said in the statement.
“We don’t now why he was walking on the road,” Neal said.
The driver of the car involved in the wreck remained at the scene until police and emergency medical personnel arrived.
