Azle motorcyclist killed in Benbrook wreck

An Azle motorcyclist was killed Sunday night in Benbrook when he lost control of his vehicle as he exited a highway, Benbrook police said Wednesday.
Officials identified the victim as Daniel Dowd, 55. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s website noted that Dowd died after he was thrown from the motorcycle and his death was ruled an accident.
The wreck was reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. Sunday in the 8100 block of Southwest Loop 820 in Benbrook.
Dowd was driving a 2008 three-wheel Harley Davidson east on the highway when he attempted to exit, but he lost control of the vehicle, according to Benbrook police reports.
Dowd‘s motorcycle went airborne, and he was thrown off, Benbrook police said.
Dowd was not wearing a helmet, according to the reports.
