The scheduled installation of new bridge beams on Interstate 35W at the U.S. 81-287 split was postponed this week because of the weather, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Transportation said Friday.
Weather permitting, the work will be done overnight Monday and Tuesday.
Southbound lanes of I-35W are scheduled to be shut down at U.S. 81/287 from 9 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, and again from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Crews will be installing bridge beams for a new ramp from northbound lanes of the freeway to U.S. 81/287 (also known as the Decatur cutoff), said spokesman Michael Peters.
Southbound drivers will detour to U.S. 81/287 northbound to Harmon Road to U.S. 81/287 southbound back to I-35W southbound, Peters said.
Police officers will be present to direct traffic. — Staff report
