A merry Tuba Christmas for horn players, fans at TCU

Horns that normally are the foundation — some would say the beating heart — of orchestras and bands stood on their own before a festive audience Monday. About 200 tubas and euphoniums played Christmas carols in front of TCU’s Jarvis Hall, performing for the 25th time as part of what has become an international event: Tuba Christmas. This was the 40th anniversary of Tuba Christmas, which began on Dec. 22, 1974, at Rockefeller Plaza in New York.
