After battling a house fire in east Fort Worth, two firefighters were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
The call came in early Saturday afternoon for a fire in the 1800 block of Dillard Street. The blaze was put out at 4 p.m., and the cause was still under investigation.
Battalion Chief Richard Harrison said there was some concern that the two firefighters had smoke inhalation. They were taken to the hospital, but it was “strictly precautionary.”
MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said that one of the firefighters was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion and that the homeowner was taken there for smoke inhalation.
