Veterans Day is Saturday and events are scheduled for Friday and Saturday across the DFW area, including:
Dallas Veterans Day Parade
11 a.m., Dallas City Hall

Opening ceremonies will be from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by the parade, which will start at Reunion Arena, go north on Houston Street, east on Main Street, south on Ervay Street, west on Young Street and south on Akard Street before passing in front of Dallas City Hall.
Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade, Fort Worth
11 a.m. Opening ceremony, Sundance Square
Parade entries will stage by 9:30 a.m. at Panther Island Pavilion and step off at 10:30 p.m., heading south on Main Street toward downtown Fort Worth. After the opening ceremony, the parade will head south on Main to West 5th, west to Houston Street, then north on Houston Street.
The parade is expected to feature more than 5,000 participants, including veterans, Junior ROTC groups, high school bands and other organizations.
Vet Fest, DeSoto
9 a.m.-noon, Nance Farms, 1325 Greenbrook Drive, DeSoto
Features unveiling of monument and opportunities for veterans to speak to a VA benefits representative and learn about other resources available to them. The even is hosted by U.S. Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson and DeSoto Mayor Curtistene McCowan.
Mansfield Veterans Day Parade
10 a.m. Parade starts at R.L. Anderson Stadium, heads east on Magnolia Street to Wisteria Street, then south before turning east on Broad Street and eventually back to the stadium.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., a concert of patriotic songs will be performed at the stadium by the Mansfield Legacy High School band.
The parade is sponsored by the city of Mansfield, the Mansfield school district, Mansfield churches and American Legion Post 624.
Veterans Memorial Dedication, Haltom City
11 a.m.-3 p.m., Haltom Road Park, 3113 Haltom Road, Haltom City
Features the dedication and ribbon cutting commemorating the opening of the Veterans Memorial. Haltom High School jazz band will perform at 10:30 a.m. followed by the dedication and ribbon cutting.
Veterans Day Ceremony, Grand Prairie
10 a.m., Veterans Memorial, 925 Connor Drive, Grand Prairie
Ceremony will feature a color guard, USO-themed music and a flyover by the Commemorative Air Force. A hot dog lunch will be served.
